Zinc Cafe & Market

I think LA may be turning me into a vegetarian. Well not really, I could never do without my beloved seafood and chicken, but I have found myself enjoying vegetarian restaurants and courses more than I remember. This past Sunday my friend and spin partner Monicah (another cliche LA habit I’ve picked up…spinning, but hey I need something to keep me in shape with all this food I’m eating) suggested that we go to Zinc Cafe & Market to grab a quick brunch after spin class.

ZincIt was my first time ever visiting the Art’s District in downtown LA and I loved it. I happen to love street art and graffiti and the Art’s District has plenty of that; hence the name I’m sure.

Street Art

Okay enough about the street art; now on to the food which was AH-MAZING! Like I said earlier Zinc Cafe is vegetarian, but the variety of choices on their menu definitely did not have me missing any meat. I decided to keep it light and simple, and I ordered the sourdough toast with two poached eggs. You guys know I love a perfectly cooked egg and Zinc did not disappoint. I cut into it and that beautiful velvety and luscious yolk just poured over my toast… pure heaven 😛

Monicah decided to order the Avocado and Radish Toast with 2 poached eggs and it looked equally delicious as mine. I definitely want to go back so I can try the Asparagus Sandwich that everyone keeps raving about. Now I know that I have this categorized under quick bites and that’s partially true. They have a market where you can grab food and go, and if you get there when there’s not too many people you can be seated and served food relatively quickly. However, the ambiance of this place alone will have you wanting to spend your whole day there; especially if you sit outside. With this gorgeous weather it’s just beautiful. Make sure you give this place a visit!Zinc Inside
