Easy Shrimp Boil

Inspired by my recent trip to Killer Shrimp and to the San Pedro Fish Market for their King’s of Fish Feast; I bring to you the recipe for my easy shrimp boil.

Easy Shrimp boil made all in one pot with shrimp, corn, potatoes, and San Pedro Fish Market's famous signature spice! Clean up is a breeze!

Probably one of the things I miss most about living in the South are the low country boils that usually take place right around the summer time. All that fresh seafood just laid out on to the table with corn and potatoes; it really is a feast!

When I went to the Kings of Fish Feast at the San Pedro Fish Market a few weeks ago; they were kind enough to give us their world famous signature spice seasoning that’s used on their shrimp trays! What I had at the event tasted amazing; so I was excited to try the seasoning in my own recipe. Now normally when I make a shrimp boil I’ll use Louisiana or Zatarain’s Crawfish Shrimp and Crab Boil Seasoning; however the Signature Spice Seasoning from the San Pedro Fish Market was just as good!

All a good shrimp boil needs is a lot of love, time, and flavor. In addition the to signature spice seasoning; I added some smoked paprika, garlic, onions, and thyme. All of this is made in one large pot so both the assembly and the clean up afterwards couldn’t be any easier! You’ll see a lot of recipes add andouille sausage, and I’m all here for it because of the great flavor it adds to the broth. In this recipe, I left it out because shame on me…I forgot! But all you’d do is slice it, and add it to the pot with the corn and potatoes. The shrimp goes in last because it takes the least amount of time to cook. Here’s a video showing the process.

This is a great make ahead meal to sit down and feast with the family. Enjoy the recipe below!

If you put the sausage in, how long would you let that cook?

Hey Catherine! I would put the sausage in 5 minutes before I put the shrimp in. So in total about 10 minutes. Hope this helps 🙂

Looks great! What do you recommend I use as a substitute for the San Pedro spice?

Thanks Morgan! I’d go with Louisiana or Zatarain’s Crawfish Shrimp and Crab Boil Seasoning. They’re both equally really good! Or Old Bay, which I know you love! <3

Is it really supposed to be just one cup of water in this? That seems like much too little, but I’ve never seen or had shrimp boil before, so I don’t really know.

Hi Ashley! I only use one cup because I don’t like the boil to have too much water. You can always add more if you find that you want more liquid, but it’s truly up to you and what you like. Hope this helps! 🙂
